Welcome to our Music Page!
This section holds a large percentage of the competition and is usually split into a Primary’s and Secondary’s competition. We welcome all musicians playing any type of instrument and in any form of ensemble as well as soloists. To make the competition fairer, we have an official accompanist which is compulsory in some classes (details on how to arrange rehearsals etc are in the syllabus). Each year we see talent grow, but also new talent emerge in many different forms and instruments.
The music competition is not only limited to soloists and small ensembles: the band day welcomes much bigger ensembles from all over the area (not just Whitby) as well as the National Choir Day which welcomes choirs from around the country.
